How can anyone think he was doing that in a literal way? If he were doing that he could not be a god and even less the Father of the Gods.
It could be easy to copy the myths and say something like "Well, that was the way gods were." But smart people goes beyond the literal meaning. My blogs are for open minded people and for those searching for something different.
What a great title: The Father of the Gods. Isn't it?
What all these myths mean? let's see...
SYMBOLS:
His symbols are: The Bull, the eagle, the oak and the thunderbolt. The bull is an ancient symbol of strength, the eagle represents the spirit who goes high and free, the oak is the firmness and, of course, the thunderbolt the sign of power.
ZEUS VS CRONO!
His parents: Crono and Rea. They were parents of the Titans too. His wife: Hera, his sister (Isis was sister and wife of Osiris in the Egyptian culture). His siblings were Hera (His wife), Poseidon, Hades, Hestia and Demeter.
Crono (Time) swallowed all his children, but Zeus. He was hidden by her mother in order to be saved. There are several versions on where Zeus grow up and who was with him; but the matter is what he did when he became adult. He went to Crono and make him to bring up all his siblings.Zeus even freed the Giants (sons of Gaia), the Cyclopes, the Hecantonchires (Warriors with 100 hands and 50 heads!) from Tartarus. He had to kill Campe (A drakaina, she dragon, loyal to Crono) their guard.
Now the great war (Titanomachy) leading by Zeus started. Here Zeus with all those liberated creatures and his siblings went against Crono. The Cyclopes gave Zeus thunderbolts to defeat his father. Finally, after the victory over Crono, Zeus split his kingdom. He gave Poseidon the ocean and Hades the underworld.
It is said Gaia (Earth) was not happy with the way Zeus treated his children and them they fought against Zeus, but the Father of the gods overcome them.
THE FATHER OF THE GODS:
After reading the above lines it is easy to see why he was called the Father of the Gods when he was not the father of all of them. Obviously he got that title because of his victory over Crono and because he freed the Gigants, Cyclopes and Hecantonchires.
WHAT THE BATTLE OF TITANOMACHY MEANS?
This is a very good question. All the sacred books tell about a battle at the end of times. When people talk about the end of times they talk about the end of the world. Actually it is not the end of time and it not the end of the world either. It refers to a point when we jump from the dark age or iron age to a golden age.
Crono, time, represents materialism and slavery to all things (Called attachment by Buddha). Ancient cultures knew time was a cycle and therefore everything pass by and returns back again. The same as seasons come and go, the same happen to ages. We know life starts in Spring, then come summer, later Fall and finally Winter where things seem to die. Well, life started in a golden Age, then a silver age came, after it the Cooper Age and finally we are in the iron Age. This was known by all ancient civilizations. The matter here is that after winter springs come, so after the iron Age a Golden Age most come.
How to make a change from the Iron Age (The Dark Age full of violence, hatred, war, crime, etc,. etc.,etc.) to the Golden Age ( The age of light full of love, comprehension, peace, harmony, etc., etc., etc.)???
That most require a huge change, a huge revolution and a huge war! Yes, Zeus most fight back against Crono again to free the gods and bring back the Golden Age. The Titanomachy most start again to give birth to a new a divine Golden Age.
That is what the Mayas told about the end of 2012. They did not talk about the end of the world, but the end of the Dark Age. It will take many years or revolutions to create a Golden Age. Zeus most use the gods (The forces of nature) to change the weather and sink these old continents to bring new continents above to give life to the future humanity. why? Because this continents have not the power to feed us any longer. Any doubt just real Revelation chapter 16. More about this on THE MAYAS AND THE END OF THE WORLD (Link below).
REMEMBER: THE MATTER IS NOT THE SYMBOL, BUT WHAT IT MEANS.
THE GODS ARE NOT IDOLS, BUT INTELLIGENT FORCES OF THE UNIVERSE AND NATURE!
ZEUS AS A LOVER?!
This is the big mistake of people: They take literal what actually is just a symbol. The matter is not the symbol itself, but the meaning. A coin fro example cost nothing, but the value maybe a lot. A one hundred dollar bill has a value, but the paper itself nothing.
So the matter is this: What does it mean that Zeus seducing all those mortals? I bet if that idea came to ancient Greeks they could not worship Zeus. how could you respect such behavior. let's get this right.
We see these "Sons of God" everywhere, in every single culture: Krishna, Rama, Quetzalcoatl, Huiitzilopochlti, Manco Capac, Fuji, Amida, etc., etc., etc. There is not one culture without someone like them.
Zeus, being the father of the gods, represents the intelligence and force which creates these super-humans: Hercules, Perseus, Jasom, Theseus, etc.
We need in modern times the importance of the genes. These genes come from our parents. How can you create a person like Hercules without the proper genes? There is not way. So, We need Zeus to go around creating this kind of super-humans.
In other words, the idea that Zeus was chasing women just to have pleasure and joy has not sense; but when we understand that the whole thing is a myth and we have to see it as such, then we understand it has to be a meaning.
Zeus is not a physical being seducing mortals; rather it is a force able to create superior things. Nevertheless, it has to be a receptacle of that force, and the best symbol is a mortal woman. How come?
Let's get into this slowly...
First of all, the whole universe is based on energy and the laws of it. So, we know there is a positive pole and a negative pole. Who can deny that in modern times?
Second: The positive pole emits energy and the negative pole takes up energy. Here man emits energy to create (Sperms) and women receive it. So, on this way of thoughts, man are the positive pole and women the negative pole. This is a matter of energy, it has nothing to do with good and evil or who is better.
Third: Why a mortal woman? She represents, on one hand, tenderness (LOVE) and, on the other hand, weakness. The son of Zeus and a mortal represent that from love comes the best things or humans...
Well, now it is easy to understand that a special force had to create those super-heroes and Zeus is only a symbol that represents that force.
THE THUNDER!
It represents the most amazing power. The thunder has light, sound and fire. Three components of the Kundalini, the latter is depicted as a serpent of fire, it is the Xicoatl of the Aztecs. Sound moves like waves as a serpent does.
The thunder on the hand of Zeus is the Xicoatl of Huitxilopochtli, the so called "God of the War." Every civilization knew abut this symbol, if you have a doubt please check my article: THE MEANING OF THE SERPENT (Link below).
