GODDESSES AND WOMEN.

All cultures had heroes and gods; but goddesses too.The Greek goddesses (Aphrodite, Minerva, etc.) had great attributes and intelligence. So let u stalk about them. There were other goddesses in other cultures like Freya for the Norse men. There is not culture without goddesses and the reason is this: They were awesome!

It is really interesting to know about ancient myths and the roll of the goddesses. If you think a little about them, you find out how beautiful they are and how they represent the best thing in the universe:  WISDOM IS MINERVA for the Romans, ATHENA for the Greeks; VENUS (APHRODITE) the goddess of love, etc.
We all know when the first woman was created she was better than man.  It is said that after man was created then woman was created. All the gods give her the best and Zeus did not find what to give her, but a box to make her happy under the condition: Do not ever open it!

Women have that beautiful grace that no man has.  They were created with great capabilities and with a beautiful presence. Not wonder why many men lost their head like Julius Caesar with Cleopatra or Samson and Delilah, Adam and Eve, etc.

Women by nature know what love is, but men think only on sex.  Remember: Behind a great man there is a great woman! Nevertheless, when a man is in love he is able to become himself a hero to fight for the reason of his love. Please check: MYTHS OF LOVE.

Let’s see some of those great goddesses:

VENUS OR APHRODITE:

What goddess can bring more joy to the human world, but love herself?
How this world could exist without the beauty and grace of love?
How would be this planet without the fragrance of love?
What can be better than love?

All these stories about Venus sleeping with all those gods are not literal, but each of them has a meaning. For example: It is said she slept with Ares (Mars) the god of war. Well, here we are told about the nature of women: Tenderness, beauty and love. Usually men are rough and more violent. Therefore the meaning here is to get a balance between both sides. What does this? LOVE! In other words: Women most learn to be bold when needed and men most learn to be tender when required, especially by his love one.

How many divorces because of the brutality of men? How many fights because of misbehavior, or not understanding each other? Love is the solution, beauty is a requirement, and forgiveness is a need.

Venus is the teacher of love, beauty, tenderness the great attributes a man look for in a woman. There are not more powerful capabilities a woman should have to capture any men’s attention and love.

Venus and Aphrodite are not just beautiful and tender, but they represent sensuality and the need every men has.
Love is always naked to the eye ready to see it, but many people do not see her beauty because they are trapped into the power of lower passions.

LOVE IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING IN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE AND THEREFORE IT HAD TO BE REPRESENTED AS A WOMAN!
WOMEN ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CREATURE IN THE WHOLE PLANET!

MINERVA OR ATHENA:

How many qualities have this great goddess of the Romans? Many and really good ones: Goddess of wisdom (The owl was her pet and symbol of wisdom), medicine, war and art; plus protector of Rome and craftsmen. She is depicted usually with a serpent, another symbol of wisdom. She is depicted as a virgin too.  She was the same Athena in the Greek mythology.

Minerva was the daughter of Jupiter, the father of the gods. Jupiter killed METIS (Prudence) and after it he got a headache.  It is said Vulcan opened Jupiter’s head and Minerva came out from it. So, Minerva is Jupiter’s intelligence or wisdom.

There is a myth about Minerva and Aracne. The latter was telling everybody she could beat Minerva on weaving anything. Minerva became an old woman to tell her not to offend the gods. Aracne mocked at her and ask for a contest to prove what she was telling. Minerva got mad and took off her custom and the contest started.

Aracne weaved the deeds of Jupiter (Zeus) with the mortal women.  Minerva saw that as an insult to the gods.  So she punished Aracne making her to become a spider. Aracne in Greek means spider.

The meaning:

Minerva’s virginity represents the purity of wisdom. Wisdom is not the mixing of ideas or an intellectual knowledge. Actually, wisdom comes from intuition, from the heart. INTUITION is the capacity to know without intellectual data. Intellectual knowledge is for the ignorant who does not have INTUITION. Intuition is pure and clear beyond human concepts.

Aracne represents a person good on doing something, but because of that he/she feels superior to others (arrogance). The contest represents the opportunity to change to be humble. But arrogance does not understand that and that is why Aracne weaved the infidelity of Zeus. That is arrogance again. So, Minerva transformed her into a spider. In other words, arrogance takes us to inferior things or mistakes. Arrogant people want other to know how good they are (Vanity) and they make many mistakes and sooner or later they are alone.

When arrogant people fall then his/her friends mock at them. So, their arrogance and vanity gets humiliated!
Wise men are humble. They prefer silence; they prefer not to be famous. They help even if people do not see their help.

HERA OR JUNO (THE QUEEN OF THE OLIMPIANS)

Yes, she was Zeus’ wife. She was the goddess of marriage and birth. Children: Hephaestus, Hebe and Ares. The first one was married Aphrodite. Hera’s symbols were the cow, the peacock, and the crow.
The cow was sacred to many cultures. It is sacred in India now days. The cow represents MOTHER NATURE, the one which feeds all humanity.

The Peacock represents both: Pride and humbleness. In other words, you better be proud or bold to get wisdom and humble to have it.

The Crow represents death. Death is a positive symbol. Many people think it is negative. Ancient wisdom had another way to see life and another way to see death. Death represents change and/or defeat of weakness.

ARTEMIS OR DIANE (DAUGTHER OF ZEUS)

She was the Goddess of animals, forest, hunting and twin sister of Apollo. She was a virgin Goddess and warrior. Virginity, in ancient times, was not associated to weakness. Actually virginity was a virtue to be defended at any price. As a warrior she had a silver bow and arrows. She was willing to defeat anyone at any time.

HESTIA OR VESTA (SISTER OF ZEUS)

The Virgin Goddess of architecture, the hearth and the family. She was the Goddess of the fire of the hearth too. That is not the fire of the kitchen, but the fire of love and/or creation. This is the reason why the family and the conjugal happiness depended on her. Time makes her to be not just the goddess of the family, but of the state and then she became the fire of the universe, the fire of creation, the Mulaprakitry (The “Root of Nature”) from India.

She was most of the times in the Olympus and did not like to get involved in the gods’ tasks or human’s life.

FREYA THE GODDESS OF BEAUTY, LOVE (NORSE MYTHS)

Freya means “The Lady.” How many attributes did she have? It is said many. She is associated with love, beauty, fertility, gold, war, and death. Isn’t enough? Well, she was Odin’s wife. No wonder Odin was the main chief of the Nordic gods. He had her as his adviser.

She was able to sacrifice anything in order to get whatever she wanted. It is said she had a necklace named: Brisingamen. It gave her the ability to be transformed into a bird (As Isis). She got it by sleeping with dwarves.   I do not take this on the literal expression, but rather of a meaning of sacrifice to get the magic necklace. Women do whatever they can and even more for the one they love!

Freya rules over her heavenly afterlife field Fólkvangr. She was getting half of the men killed in battle and the other half were for Odin. See? Equal rights!

Gefjun (or Gefjon, Gefion)
The Norse goddess of CHASTITY, sometimes depicted as the goddess of fertility.

SIF (THOR'S WIFE)
Depicted as the goddess of home, crops and nature. Hair made of gold. Thor and Sif had a daughter called Thrud, which means strength.

WOMEN ARE ADORABLE AND AMAZING!

Yes! Remember: All myths say women were done after men, in other words, the gods made women after the first experiment and therefore they made women better than men. The Greek myth goes right to the point: It says all the gods give her the best and Zeus did not find anything to give her, so he gave her a box telling her not to open it. If you want to know more about this check THE PANDORA’S BOX.

Women have something really special and I mean outside and inside.  When you pay attention to them you find out many great things about a woman. Their skin, their hair, their nails, their eyes, their curves and everything makes then so sensual, so interesting and so lovely. Inside they have a great heart able to love without limits. Of course, they are not just heart, but they are very smart and with tenderness they are able to make any man to surrender onto them.

How many poets wrote beautiful verses because of women? How many paintings show their grace? How many songs about a beautiful woman? Yes, women make anyone to dream BECAUSE THEY ARE A SWEET DREAM WITH BONES AND FLESH!

Those great stories about a prince or a warrior fighting for his/her love always make us dream of an adorable women. They are made of heaven, they taste so sweet, they smell so nice, and they make life bearable. THE WORLD REALLY COULD BE A LOT WORST WITHOUT WOMEN!

Do not ever forget: WE ALL ARE BORN FROM A WOMAN!

Women are really smart and pretty. Nothing is prettier than a woman. Poets, painters,  singers, etc. got inspiration because of a woman. Women have that special magic that turns men crazy.

Women is usually depicted on the myths of Creation as the reason of the fall of men. Nevertheless, it had been misunderstood. Actually women want more from men and they ask for more. So men always need to be better to fulfill women's wishes of having something better.
